Scotland to host 'Bomb a Love Story'

Iranian flick 'Bomb a Love Story' has been set to participate at the Edinburgh Iranian Festival in Scotland, the UK.

The 10th edition of the Edinburgh Iranian Festival unveiled its lineup that includes Peyman Maadi’s 'Bomb a Love Story'

The film depicts romance in the war stricken Iran in the late 80s.

It is about Tehran, the Iranian capital, under bomb attacks with terror prevails in the city. The movie shows how love and emotions, life and hope can wash away the horrific image of the war.

The director stars in his own flick, alongside Siamak Ansari, Habib Rezaee, Siamak Safari, and Leila Hatami.

‘Bomb a Love Story’ went on screen at the 2018 Bogazici Film Festival in Turkey, at which Maadi was awarded Best Director, as well as the 2019 ÍRÁN:CI Film Festival in the Czech Republic. It also opened the 11th Bengaluru International Film Festival in India.

The acclaimed title has been nominated for two awards at the 12th Asia Pacific Screen Awards and won several nominations at the 36th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The Edinburgh Iranian Festival is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organization (SCIO).

The gala aims to “increase understanding of Iranian culture, history and people, at a time when perceptions of the country in the Western world are heavily skewed by politics”, according to the festival’s website.

The 10th edition of Edinburgh Iranian Festival is scheduled to take place in the Scottish capital on March 1-7.
